Though, Although, However, Despite, In Spite Of 

All of these words express ideas such as concession or contrast. However, they are used in different ways. Though and although are conjunctions with the same meaning. They are used to connect two clauses expressing contrasting ideas.

However is a transitional adverb. It does not connect two clauses. Use a full stop or a semicolon before however. Use a comma after however.

Despite and in spite of are prepositions with the same meaning. They are followed by a noun or ing form.

Fill in the blanks with though, although, despite, in spite of or however.
