Fable: DON'T ARGUE WITH "DONKEYS"

The Donkey and the Tiger

Moral: Don’t Argue with Fools

One day, a donkey said to a tiger:
“The grass is blue.”

The tiger calmly replied:
“No, the grass is green.”

The argument grew heated, and at last, they agreed to place the matter before the king of the jungle, the lion, who would judge between them.

Even before they reached the clearing where the lion sat on his throne, the donkey began braying loudly:
“Your Highness! Is it not true that the grass is blue?”

The lion looked at him and said:
“True, the grass is blue.”

The donkey clapped his hooves in delight and cried out:
“The tiger refuses to believe me. He contradicts me and vexes me. I beg you, punish him!”

The lion declared:
“The tiger shall be punished with five years of silence.”

Overjoyed, the donkey skipped away chanting:
“The grass is blue! The grass is blue!”

The tiger, stunned but composed, accepted the punishment. Before leaving, however, he asked the lion:
“Your Majesty, why have you punished me? Surely you know the grass is green.”

The lion replied:
“Indeed, the grass is green.”

The tiger pressed further:
“Then why the punishment?”

The lion answered with wisdom:
“Your punishment has nothing to do with the colour of the grass. It is because a noble and intelligent creature like you should never waste time arguing with a donkey. And worse, you troubled me with such nonsense.”

Moral of the Fable:
The greatest waste of time is arguing with those who care nothing for truth but only for proving themselves right.
Some people, no matter how clear the evidence, are incapable of understanding. Others are blinded by ego, hatred, or stubbornness. Their only goal is to win an argument, even at the cost of reason.

When ignorance shouts, intelligence remains silent.
Peace of mind is worth more than the hollow victory of a senseless quarrel.
